The Innerspace method relies upon classic sequences of Hatha Yoga postures with heavy emphasis on form and safety. Introspection and personal growth are the touchstones of Innerspace classes. Students are brought in and out of postures carefully, and modifications are made for any body type. Most sequences are designed to open the hips, alleviating low back pain and tension. Mindfulness of breath and posture is emphasized.
Each class begins with students creating a personal purpose or dedication for practice, and the sessions end with Yoga Nidra, a deep meditation which quiets the mind and develops the practitioner’s control of his or her own body systems. Class sizes are small so students get individualized attention from certified and registered yoga instructor, Kelly Gilliatte.
Studio classes and personal sessions are designed to be appropriate for any body, as modifications and alternatives are offered. Students must be at least 8 weeks post-operative from any procedure, including childbirth, and should inform the instructor of heart conditions, pregnancy, and uncontrolled high blood pressure. Thursday Evenings 6:00 PM
Yoga for Fighters & Athletes: Flowing yoga designed to open the hips, chest and shoulders and strengthen the entire body. Light pranayama (breath work), and meditation to sharpen your focus. MMA members @ no charge, everyone else $10/students, $7
Friday Mornings 9:30 AM
Enjoy a flowing yoga workout designed for all levels of
experience, followed by deep
relaxation. This summer, children are welcome. $10
Studio Classes last 60-75 minutes. Cash & checks are accepted. Bring your mat and a pillow and blanket if you want them for meditation.
